ProjectDetails Description : Sustrans commissioned a small team of people to set up and run 3 one week courses teaching green woodwork with the aim of producing 9 original oak benches to populate part of the Exmoor cycle route. The venue was an oak woodland near Dulverton, Somerset where the trees were felled, converted into timber by hand and joined into benches, again by hand. These benches can be seen on the cycle route along with nine other benches which were individual commissions from local artists/craftsmen. Involvement : Setup, teaching and installation.
