Description :

Self build timber framed extension to 1930's semi in fantastic location. The oak frame was infilled with a light-earth mix of straw and clay to give both insulation and thermal mass in the walls & floor (first building of its kind in the UK). The roof was insulated with cellulose and the building was clad both internally and externally in a mix of oak, Douglas fir and whitewood.

Involvement :

Frame design / drawings & detail design. Part of the 3 man team who cut the frame and the overall team who completed project.
